Meetup: Nonprofits in the Cloud + TechSoup Canada Q&A [September 25 2012]

Have you heard of “cloud computing” or the “cloud” but not quite sure what it is? Wondering how other nonprofits are using it and whether it’s right for you?

When: Tuesday, September 25, 2012, 6:00 PM To 7:30 PM
Where: W2 Media Cafe, 111 W Hastings, Vancouver, BC

In this session, you will:

  • Get up to speed on what the cloud is and why it is a powerful tool for nonprofits
  • Have common questions addressed such as: is it secure? will it save me money?
  • See examples of cloud tools in action
  • Understand how to think about the “if” and “when” to use cloud computing in your organization

AND – learn about how the TechSoup Canada software donations program can help your nonprofit stay up-to-date on a limited budget. Tierney will go over the basics of how the program works, and be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

Tierney is the Manager of Learning & Special Projects at TechSoup Canada, where she works to build technology capacity in the nonprofit sector. She also has experience developing software in the corporate sector and has a degree in Software Engineering from the University of Waterloo. You can find out about what she’s up to on her blog or on Twitter at @tierneys.

Net Tuesday is thrilled to have the W2 Media Cafe as our venue sponsor for the 2012-2013 season.

They do cool things. Check them out!
