It’s difficult to avoid news stories about hacks and misused databases. For our Q4 meetup, we will discuss what nonprofits can do to protect their systems and data.  Each panelist will outline best practices for protecting your own data as well as constituent data. COME WITH YOUR QUESTIONS – we have three experts here and this is your chance to leverage their knowledge and learn how to PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR ORGANIZATION’S DATA.

Mary Gardner, Chief Information Security Officer at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
Mary is a CISSP and has been an information security professional for the past 17 years. Her experience crosses several industries including Finance, Transportation, Research and Healthcare.

Peter Kittas, Web and IT Consultant, Revelate LLC
Peter is a freelance consultant providing website development, optimization, and security services. He previously worked for Adobe Systems as the Senior Manager of IT Infrastructure, where he developed solutions to protect intellectual property worldwide. Peter is also involved in open data initiatives and was an organizer of the Hack to End Homelessness.

Ralph Johnson, Chief Information Security and Privacy Officer, King County
Ralph (CISSP, HISP, CISM, CIPP/US) has been with King County for 27 years serving in multiple IT and management roles. In his current role for 11 years, he established the information assurance program from policy development to controls selection, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. He holds multiple certifications in information security, information privacy, network administration and project management.
